ABSTRACT Al-Khatib, Walid \\\"Mohammed Fawzi\\\' Abed.(2010). Music Education Teachers Training Needs in the State of Kuwait in the Light of Knowledge Economy. M.A Thesis, Yarmouk University. (Supervisor: Dr. Mohamed Taha Ghawanmeh) The purpose of study was to identify music education teachers training needs in the State of Kuwait in light of the knowledge economy from their point of view, as well as to identify the role of gender, academic qualifications and teaching experience in the training needs of the selected sample. To achieve the purpose of this study a random sample of (278) teachers of both Gender groups was selected from the total number of the study population (1690) teachers of music education in the public schools at Hawalli / Kuwait. The study sample was selected in 2009/2010 with a percentage of (16.4), distributed among (116) schools. The study instrument was designed by the researcher himself. It consisted of (76) paragraphs covering six different domains. The researcher verified the validity and stability of the instrument of investigation before it was used. To obtain a valid results of the study we extracted the averages and standard deviations and used the analysis o variance (ANOVA),and the (T.Test) as well. The study showed the following results: There is a need of average required training for all domains of the study and for the instrument as well. They are in descending order as follows: the relationship with teachers and the community, career growth and skills, research and evaluation, activities and interaction within the classroom, planning, classroom management and order maintaining. No statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) level were obtained in all domains of music education teachers training needs in the State of Kuwait in light of the knowledge economy (the six domains) regardless of their years of experience, the effect of gender, and the effect of level of education. There is a significant difference at (α ≤ 0.05) level obtained in the following domains (career growth and skills, relationship with the teachers and community, research and evaluation). This shows that there is a significant difference between the averages of years of experience (1-2 courses, 3-4 courses, 5 courses or more). No statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) level at the following domains were obtained (planning, activities, interaction in the classroom and management and maintaining order in the classroom) Based on the findings of this investigation the researcher recommend. Conducting teacher training courses and workshops for the teachers of music education within the knowledge economy and to make use of the educational technology in the field of music.
