The Effectiveness of an Active Learning-Based-Strategy in Decreasing Psychological Burning and Developing the Verbal Interaction Skills of Secondary Stage Teachers of Psychology.
Abstract in English:
The present study aims at knowing the effectiveness of an active learning-based-strategy in decreasing psychological burning and developing the verbal interaction skills of secondary stage teachers of psychology.To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher has formed the Experimental group to include 30 male and female teachers of psychology at the secondary stage in the New Valley. They were divided into two parts; the first part consisted of 15 teachers;out of them, 7 had less experience and 8 had more experience. The other part consisted of 15 teachers also: 8 had less experience and 7 had more experience. The researcher found that these teachers had a great deal of psychological burning, and they suffered a decrease in verbal interacting skills.. The researcher used the descriptive approach and the semi-experimental approach. He also prepared research tools which included the psychological burning questionnaire, verbal interaction skills list, and the teacher's guide
The study results showed that, after the experimental group used the collective thinking strategy in teaching psychology, there was a negative correlative relationship between the averages of the teachers' scores in the psychological burning questionnaire and their scores in the verbal interaction skills list. Results also indicated hat there was a statistically significant difference in psychological burning between the averages of the experimental group scores in the pre and post tests, on the side of the post test. Furthermore, there was a statistically significant difference in the verbal interaction skills between the averages of the experimental group scores in the pre and post tests, on the side of the post test. Results also showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the averages of the scores of the males and females in psychological burning on the side of the males. Also, there is a statistically significant difference between teachers who had less experience and those who had more experience in psychological burning, on the side of those who had less experience. Also there was a statistically significant difference between the averages of the scores of males and females in the verbal interaction skills, on the side of the females. There was also a statistically significant difference between teachers who had less experience and those who had more experience in verbal interaction skills, on the side of those who had more experience.
