Abstract in English:
This study aims at realizing the extent which national and civic
education textbooks of the upper Basic Stage in Jordan are inclusive of
the philosophical foundations of curriculum. Through using the
descriptive pattern. The study is to identify a list of criteria for the
philosophical foundations that are to be taken into account at any process
of building national and civic education curricula and textbooks, the
subject sample was represented by the national and civic Education
textbooks of 8th, 9th and 10th basic grades.The researcher developed a
classification for the criteria of the philosophical foundations. Such a
classification consisted at ultimate version, after ensuring its credibility
and validity of (27) criteria. The findings showed that The National and
civic educational textbooks consest of (1106) philosophical foundations,
and the distribution of philosophical foundations in the national and civic
educational textbooks have not followed a certain system that correlates
among them, the study showed low percentages of the philosophical
foundations in the national and civic Educational textbooks of the 9
grades.
