SUMMARY
The main objective of this study was to identify the farmers knowled]
ge and implementation level of integrated pest management of sugar beet crop in some villages in Kafr El - Sheikh Governorate, and to determine the relationship between knowledge, implementation degrees of the respondents and some independent variables, to Identify the respondents resources of these practices, their suitable integrated pest management of sugar beet
A questionnaire was used to collect the data through personal interviews with a systematic random sample consisted of 180 respondents in six villages ( kafr- eltyfa , matbol , alfokhaa albahria , almasharka , almanshia alkobra , and marazka ) . in kafr El-Sheikh Governorate.
Percentages, frequencies, arithmetic means, standard deviation, simple correlation coefficient , step – wise multiple regression , and F,T . Test were used to analyze the data statistically .
The most important results of this study were as follows:
1- 65.55 % of the respondents have low and medium knowledge degrees of integrated pest management of sugar beet crop.
2- 71.22 % of the respondents have low and medium implementation degrees of respondents.
3- low knowledge and implementation respondents of some integrated pest management of sugar beet crop practices , such as , rate of fertilizers, collected the infected plants and burn it .use the holding pest , used Predator, Parasite, Pathogens
4-respondents knowledge was low in some farmers' knowledge and executive level integrated pest management of sugar beet crop
5-there is a significant relationship between respondents knowledge degrees of integrated pest management of sugar beet crop and the following independent variables: age, the degree of visits to agricultural service centers, the degree of exposure sources information , the degree of respondent education , the degree of social participation
6-there is a significant relationship between respondents implementation degrees of integrated pest management of sugar beet crop and each of the following independent variables: the degree of respondent education and age
7-the independent variables which had significant correlation with the dependent variable had explained 15.4 % of the variance of knowledge degree of integrated pest management of sugar beet crop
8-the independent variables which had significant correlation with the dependent variable had explained 8.1 % of the variance of implementation degree of integrated pest management of sugar beet crop
9-the most important sources of information about integrated pest management of sugar beet crop were : neighbors, the extension agent,. Friends, agricultural T.V programes .
